Toyota 100 Cars for Good

Posted on: September 29, 2013

I am excited that Toyota is about to launch this year’s 100 Cars for Good program.  Beginning tomorrow, folks have an opportunity to vote on Facebook for a charity that will receive Toyota vehicles at no cost to their non-profit organization.

Here are some cool FAQs about the philanthropic event.

The “100 Cars for Good” is a national philanthropic program launched in 2011 by Toyota.  Over the course of 50 days, Toyota will be giving away 100 Cars to selected 100 nonprofit organizations across the United States.  This is the third year that Toyota has offered the program.

Toyota allows the public to choose the winners through the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page.  This is different from other national philanthropy programs. Once 250 finalists have been determined, the general public can visit the Facebook page to vote.

Voting begins Oct. 1, 2013.  Each day for 50 consecutive days, five organizations will be eligible for public voting on the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page.  Voters will  have the opportunity to cast two votes per day for two different organizations.  At the end of each day, two winners will be determined by the highest number of votes received.  Each of the three runners-up will receive a $1,000 grant from Toyota (not too shabby!)

Winners can choose one of the following cars: Prius, Highlander, Tundra, Sienna,  or Sienna Mobility (equipped with Auto Access Seat)

Toyota chooses to give cars to nonprofit organizations because Toyota appreciates what a big difference a new car can make for organizations working to improve lives and strengthen communities across the country.  Over the last 20 years, Toyota has contributed more than half a billion dollars to nonprofits throughout the U.S.  100 Cars for Good allows Toyota to build on that commitment in important, new ways by making the public an integral part of these efforts and harnessing the power of social media to expand awareness and galvanize support for organizations that are having such a tremendous impact in neighborhoods nationwide.

As always, Toyota has me proud to be a dealer.  Working for a company that gives back so much inspires me to work ever harder.  Thanks Toyota!
